Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento di Letteratura inglese prima annualità magistrale rientra nell'ambito della formazione letteraria magistrale in anglistica, anche per l'accesso al concorso abilitante per le scuole (L-LIN/10).
L'insegnamento è volto a presentare alle studentesse e agli studenti alcuni testi e autori del canone britannico in relazione alle "riscritture", nel contesto postcoloniale anglofono. L'insegnamento ha come obiettivo ulteriore il consolidamento delle capacità critiche e analitiche in relazione alla close reading testuale; al riconoscimento dei generi letterari e delle loro specificità formali e stilistiche; alla comprensione del contesto storico e culturale.
The MA course English Literature first year is part of the MA education in the field of literary studies in English (L_LIN/10 for prospective school teachers).
The course introduces students to texts and authors of the British literary canon, in relation to the phenomen of "rewriting", in the postcolonial anglophone context. A futher objective of the course is to strenghten critical and analystical skills in realtion to close reading of texts, familiarity with diverse genres and their specific formal and stylistic features, and familiarity with the historic and cultural context.

Al termine del corso le studentesse e gli studenti devono saper collocare autori e opere trattati nel giusto contesto, geografico, storico, letterario e culturale. Le stduentesse e gli studenti devono, inoltre, saper commentare i testi letterari attraverso analisi stilistica e testuale e rispetto alla critica letteraria, alla comparatistica e gli studi postcoloniali.
At the end of the course, students should be able to place authors and texts in the right context (historic, geographic, leterary and cultural). Moreover, students should be able to analyse texts from a stylistic and narratoligical perspective and in relation to literary criticism through comparative readings and unde the lens of postcolonial criticism.

Il corso è offerto in lingua inglese. I materiali caricati su piattaforma MOODLE sono parte integrante e obbligatoria per la preparazione dell'esame.
Gli studenti non frequentati sono caldamente invitati a contattare la docente prima dell'inizio del corso, a tenersi costantemente in contatto e aggioranti, visionando imateriali su MOODLE, infine, a infromarsi sull'esame almeno con un mese di anticipo.
The course is fully taught in English. Complementary materials are available on the Moodle Platform and are compulsory and helpful for preparing the exam.
Those who do not attend the course are invited to contact the teacher before the course starts, to keep updated by also looking at the materials on MOODLE platform, and to ask for instructions in relation to the exam, at least one month before the exam sessions.

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento è erogato in presenza e con aggiunta di materiali su piattaforma MOODLE. Il corso prevede studio individuale dei testi primari e secondari. Durante le lezioni studentesse e studenti sono invitati a presentare argomenti selezionati con la docente e a discuterli collettivamente.
The course is offered in presence and with the help of materials available on MOODLE platform. Students are required to study all the texts listed and included in the programme and on the platform. In class, students are encouraged to present topics of intereest to and with the community.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Per l'esame orale le studentesse e gli studenti devono OBBLIGATORIAMENTE studiare tutti i testi indicati nel Programma d'esame. L'esame si svolgerà preferibilmente in lingua inglese. Qualora si scegliesse l'italiano come lingua dell'esame orale, verrà richiesta una traduzione di alcuni brani a scelta della docente.
For the oral examination, students are requested to study all mandatory texts listed in the programme and materials available on Moodle platform. The exam will be in English. For those who choose the italian language, translation skills will be put to the test.
