Temi di ricerca
I have supervised and mentored more than 130 BSc and MSc students, sometimes leading to joint publications. I have also line-managed Research Assistants on grant-funded research projects as well as supervised two PhD students including on cross-disciplinary projects, who have gone on to secure employment in higher education, research, and clinical fields. I have been leading an interdisciplinary consortium of 25 researchers from 9 universities in the UK and in EU, working on dementia neurorehabilitation (see https://youtu.be/ezJhIbice3E and final credits). The 25 researchers are engineers, computer scientists, psychologists, clinicians, sports experts, and marketing experts.
I am very experienced in leading cross-disciplinary collaborative projects within and across universities in different countries, with the supervision of cross-departmental students and with diverse working environments.
I coordinated the University of Essex Science and Health Faculty’s effort during the Covid-19 pandemic (see https://www.essex.ac.uk/news/2020/04/23/data-scientists-work-with-nhs-trust).
I regularly attend international conferences in AI and cognitive neuroscience and convene symposia.
I contribute to societies in the fields of cognitive neuroscience and AI through my membership and annual meeting contributions.
I worked as an editor for Frontiers in Digital Health, and I engage in outreach and community activities.
I was a humanitarian aid volunteer during the international crises in Albania in 1991-92 and in Bosnia in 1996.
In 1994 he co-founded the first Italian headquarters of the association Engineering Without Borders.
In 2001 I founded my own company Infologos Ltd with the mission of training youth for the working world.
