Programma
The course analyzes the institutional outline and the intellectual background of the United States of America. Students will be involved in a discussion of key concepts, such as "Republic," "nation" and "nationhood," "pursuit of happiness," "freedom," and "democracy." Particular attention will be devoted to the national social setting, including the North-South divide, and the problems of chattel slavery and systemic racism.
