Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento di Letteratura inglese cerca di offrire un'approfondita conoscenza della tradizione letteraria inglese in epoca contemporanea.
L'insegnamento ha il fine di analizzare le modalità di comunicazione della narrativa e alcuni tra gli autori più rappresentativi degli ultimi decenni in Inghilterra. Tecniche narrative, contemporaneità e globalizzazione saranno al centro della discussione.
A course on English literature seeks to promote an in-depth knowledge of the English literary canon with some possible hints to the contemporary English fiction.
The aim of the course is to prepare the reader for an approach to a narration of postmodern fiction. Some among the most famous authors from England will be read. Approoaches to literary codes in our contemporary age and the thrust of the globalizing pocess will be the core of the course.

Comprensione di un testo letterario contemporaneo e competenza nell'uso delle fonti critiche in modo tale da dimostrare di aver acquisito un apprendimento autonomo. L'analisi testuale dei testi letterari analizzati durate l'insegnamento dovrà essere effettuata a fronte delle teorie di analisi critica, utilizzando parametri come contesto sociale, psicoanalisi e studio della lingua.
Students are required to show appropriate understanding of a contemporary literary text and competence in the use of the critical sources so as to demonstarte to have acquired autonomous comprehension. Students are also expected to apply literary analysis to the texts discussed in class, adopting the various modes of literary criticism, such as social science, psychoanalysis and language analysis.

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento verrà tenuto in inglese. I testi del programma monografico saranno letti e commentati a lezione. Materiale didattico sarà reso disponibile sulla piattaforma Moodle.
The course will be in English and the texts in the syllabus will be read and commented. Specific theoretical material will be available for the registered students on the Moodle platform.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
La parte sul programma istituzionale ha la priorità sul resto del programma e sarà la prima parte affrontata dallo studente in sede di esame. A tal fine, è anche previsto un test scritto a risposta multipla relativo al programma istituzionale per ogni sessione d'esame (in totale 3 test/a.a.). A discrezione della studentessa o dello studente, tuttavia l'esame sul programma istituzionale potrà essere anche sostenuto all'orale. In ogni caso, all'iscrizione dell'esame orale la studentessa o lo studente può scegliere se sostenere la prova portando il programma monografico oppure l'intero (istituzionale + monografico) programma di esame. Il voto dell'esame è espresso in trentesimi.
The part on the History of English literature has the priority in the exam and this will necessarily be the first part of the exam. One written test with multiple choice will also be on schedule for each exam session (3 written tests/year). However, the students can choose if they prefer to give this part as a written test or as an oral exam. As a rule, exam marks will be expressed in 30/30.
